Kraków - Miasto warte grzechu

Most interesting places, which attracts tourists attention in Cracow are:

Main Square - The biggest Medieval square in Poland and in the whole world. It is full of outdoor cafés and pubs, street music, flower stands. People meet and stay in Rynek from early morning till late night. In the middle of Rynek there is Sukiennice - the Cloth Hall - a magnificent Renaissance building which houses numerous souvenir shops selling most beautiful things in town, and on the first floor the Gallery of Polish 19th and 20th c. paintings. The most impressive building in the Square is Mariacki (St. Mary's) Church. Many legends are attached to this church, which has the world's biggest Gothic altar inside. Almost each of the houses surrounding Rynek has an interesting or even fascinating history behind it.

Wawel Castle - In the castle's many chambers, exhibitions that simply cannot be missed await us: royal chambers and stately rooms, collections of Oriental art and military trophies, collections of Flemish tapestries of amazing beauty, as well as archaeological specimens - a testimony of the over-a-millennium-long history of Christianity in Polish Lands. By all means worth visiting are also the Wawel Cathedral, the Royal Tombs - crypts containing royal sarcophagi, where we walk among Poland's entire history, and the massive "Sigismund" Bell, which peals only to commemorate events of the greatest importance to the country and the city. Half a day is hardly sufficient to see all these even if you hurry.

Kazimierz - For centuries it was a centre of Jewish culture, until the Nazis killed most of its residents and deported many of the survivors to the wartime ghetto of Podgorze and thence to nearby Auschwitz. Kazimierz had largely fallen into decline since World War II, but the area is currently undergoing something of a renaissance in response to the renewed interest brought about by the film Schindler’s List. The Jewish culture of the area is being revived, with lively art galleries, kosher restaurants and regular cultural events, such as Klezmer concerts. In fact, Cracow’s cultural attractions in general are manifest, with almost a quarter of Poland’s museum holdings housed here and the city’s cultural scene is without equal in Poland – the city was justifiably named as one of the nine European Cities of Culture in 2000. This part of city is stamping ground for artist and actors, because of unique atmosphere.

Cracow's Pubs - Cracow´s old town centre bustles with pubs, jazz cellars and other entertainment venues, making it a place of much energy and vivacity. Over 50.000 student living in Cracov add to atmosphere of the city much energy and vivacity. It's very easy to find good pub for drinking or dancing. Many tourists find polish women the most atractive in the world, they are very open and friendly oriented for tourists, esp. from Germany, England, Italy, Japan and France. In Friday, Saturday and Sunday all pubs are full of dancers. Everybody can make new aquitance and dance to the morning.

The Kosciuszko Mound - An unusual earth mound covered in grass and surrounded by a circle of brick buildings. The Kosciuszko Mound was build between 1821 and 1823 in memory of Tadeusz Kosciuszko, a Polish hero. The mound in his honor was begun by Poles from all over the country bringing handfuls of soil and laying them in his memory. The Kosciuszko mound rises 326 meters above sea level and affords an excellent panorama of the city and beyond. On a clear day one can see the Tatra mountains.
